The idea of self-image is central to true leadership. Indeed, seeing oneself in a positive light manifests confidence, trust, and healthy risk-taking. For me, my self-image is the foundation on which I approach all tasks, both large and small. I know that I am intelligent, organized, administrative, and passionate, and with this valuable self-image, I have the confidence to demand excellence in every objective I set out to complete. Others would certainly describe me as intense, stoic, strategic, and organized, and yet this view is only augmented by my own self-image. My self-efficacy is powerful, as I know I have the ability to have real impact in this world, from my year of mission service to my future as an educator. Certainly, I have suffered loss in my life, losing my mother at the age of 13, but my perseverance through that trial set me on the path towards potent self-efficacy that is manifesting itself in lofty yet achievable personal and professional goals.
